NZ Barber uses SMS to keep you informed about your bookings. Here’s exactly what to expect.

Messages You Will Receive

Booking Confirmation

Sent immediately when a booking is confirmed by your barber.

24-Hour Appointment Reminder

Sent the day before your appointment so you never miss a cut.

Booking Cancellation Notice

Sent if a booking is cancelled by you, your barber, or the platform.

Barber Accepts Your Request

Sent when a barber accepts or confirms a booking request you submitted.

How Users Opt In

Users provide explicit consent to receive SMS messages during account signup by:

  1. 1. Entering their mobile phone number in the registration form
  2. 2. Ticking the SMS consent checkbox which clearly states the purpose and opt-out instructions
  3. 3. Clicking the "Create Account" button to complete registration
No SMS messages are sent without explicit user consent at the point of signup.

How to Opt Out

Reply STOPReply STOP to any NZ Barber SMS message. You will be unsubscribed immediately and receive a one-time confirmation.
Reply HELPReply HELP to any message to receive assistance and contact information.
Account SettingsLog in to your NZ Barber account and navigate to Profile → Notifications to toggle SMS preferences on or off.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies. You will receive messages only when you have active bookings. Typical users receive 2–4 messages per booking.

Cost Disclosure

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan. NZ Barber does not charge for SMS messages.

Message Sender

SMS messages are sent from NZ Barber via Twilio, our authorised messaging provider. The sender name or number will identify NZ Barber as the source.
